Employees of Baku Engineering University (BEU) will take part in a training to be held at Middle East Technical University (METU) as part of a project professional development of educators and study of international experience in the field of "Human-Computer Interaction" and study international experience. Elmaddin Huseynov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Mathematics and Informatics at BEU, Ahmad Ahmadzada, Lecturer of the Department of Computer and Information Technologies will participate in the training to be held on March 21-27, 2022.

The project aims to select potential teachers to teach the subject "Human-Computer Interaction" based on modern challenges, develop a curriculum and textbook for the subject, as well as to get acquainted with the laboratory through academic mobility and bring innovations to our country.

The expert of this project, which is also attended by specialists from various higher education institutions of the country, is a Professor of METU Kurshat Cagiltay, the world-famous scientist.

Within the framework of the project, as a result of theoretical and practical trainings 10 selected teachers will visit the "Human-Computer Interaction" laboratory at METU, which is ranked 601-800 in the world. Furthermore, K. Cagıltay's book “From Theory to Practice. Human - Computer Interaction and Applied Engineering”, which is the main textbook in many universities in Turkey, will be translated into Azerbaijani by specialists, 1000 copies will be donated to Azerbaijani universities. The project, which started in December 2021, will be completed in October 2022.

The first "Human-Computer Interaction" laboratory of the TUBITAK project was established in 2005 under the leadership of K. Cagiltay. "Human-Computer Interaction" is an interdisciplinary field dealing with the design, evaluation and application of interactive technologies, as well as is a field of research related to ergonomics, graphic and industrial design, sociology, anthropology and education, human behavior, psychology, cognitive sciences, computer technology and software engineering. Being the first research and application laboratory, it has contributed to academic research since its establishment for assessing the suitability of interfaces, obtaining more reliable information through tests and eye tracking devices and studying human-computer interaction as a whole.

Of note, 9 projects are being implemented in universities under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku, Lankaran, Mingachevir and Nakhchivan in three priority areas within the grant competition "Development of higher and secondary special education in 2021/2022." “Nakhchivan” University is implementing the project professional development of educators and study of international experience in the field of "Human-Computer Interfaces."
