Creative Arts
The cultural life at Baku Engineering University (BEU) is distinguished by its uniqueness. The Artistic Creativity Division, which plays a crucial role in the comprehensive development of students, prioritizes the educational significance and ideological-aesthetic value of the arts. The university has created a favorable environment for nurturing new talents, which promotes the moral and ethical development of youth. The university's amateur art collectives actively participate in significant historical days, holidays, and national events, organizing presentations, creative evenings, and exhibitions.
Dance Collective
The university's dance collective was founded by People's Artist Yusif Qasımov. Its repertoire includes dances of Turkic-speaking peoples such as Azerbaijani, Turkish, Kazakh, and Uzbek, as well as European dances.
- Girls' Group: Under the artistic direction of Səbinə Musayeva, the group performs lyrical and graceful dances like "Azerbaijan," "Nalbaki," "Naz eləmə," and "Tərəkəmə."
- Boys' Group: Under the artistic direction of Əfsun Bayramov, the group prepares vibrant dances characterized by strength and temperament, such as "Shaki," "Qazağı," "İgidlər," and "Qaytağı."
- Joint Performances: Both groups present collective dances like "Yalli," "Cəngi," and "Azerbaijani Suite," which reflect our national music and traditions.
Every year, the collective wins in the "National Dances" and "Foreign Dances" nominations at the "Student Spring" creativity festival and other national competitions.
Student Theater Studio
Operating within the Artistic Creativity Division, the Student Theater Studio works in two directions: a drama collective and the Club of the Funny and Inventive (KVN). The artistic director is Zəminə Axundova, PhD in Arts.
- Staged Productions: The studio's repertoire includes works such as "Qanlı bənövşə" (Bloody Violet) by A. Samadli, "Kamança" by J. Mammadguluzade, "Khurshidbanu Natavan" by I. Afandiyev, "Özümüzü kəsən qılınc" (The Sword that Cuts Us) based on B. Vahabzade's play "Goyturks," "Keçən ilin son gecəsi" (The Last Night of Last Year) by Anar, and "Xəcalət" (Shame) by H. Miralamov.
- Performances on Professional Stages: The collective has showcased its productions on professional stages such as the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater, the Azerbaijan State Theater of Young Spectators, the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theater, and the Sumgayit State Drama Theater.
- KVN (Club of the Funny and Inventive): The university's KVN team has successfully participated in the National Inter-University KVN Super League.
Music Collective
The music club includes groups for choir, solo performance, and rock music. The artistic director is Vüqar Məmmədov. The collective's repertoire consists of works by Azerbaijani composers, folk songs, and songs of various world nations. A significant focus is placed on patriotic themes in their performances.
The collective has repeatedly won high places in nominations such as "Pop Music," "Classical Music," "Estrada Music," and "Folk Songs" at the "Student Spring" National Creativity Festival.
Folk Instruments Ensemble
The ensemble includes national musical instruments such as the tar, saz, garmon, and naghara. Under the direction of Vüqar Məmmədov, the ensemble works purposefully to preserve, enrich, and promote national musical folklore.
