Good Health and Well-being
Medical Center
Organization of medical service at Baku Engineering University
A Medical Office operates at Baku Engineering University (BEU) to protect the health of employees and students, including early diagnosis and prevention of diseases, and promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Necessary measures are constantly being taken to ensure that the Medical Office operates following modern requirements.
First aid and medical examination
The medical office is provided with medicines, medical instruments, and other relevant supplies included including first aid. The medical office is the main administrative structure of the university, and experienced medical workers work here and promptly respond to the health problems of students and employees. In case of any health problem:
- First aid is provided.
- In some cases, an on-site examination is carried out;
- If necessary, students and employees are referred to the relevant specialized medical institutions.
The medical office constantly monitors the medical examinations of students. The main purpose of the medical examination is to detect non-communicable diseases that lead to disability and premature death and to take other necessary steps.
When symptoms of any disease are detected, in addition to providing first aid, the patient is referred to a medical institution with an appropriate profile for treatment, and the patient's further treatment is monitored.

Preventive measures and training
One of the directions of activity of the medical office is the prevention of health-related risks and the implementation of educational work for this purpose. For this purpose
- Educational measures are taken against seasonal infectious and contagious diseases.
- The importance of sanitary and hygienic norms is explained to students and employees.
- If necessary, information and promotion work is carried out within the framework of vaccination programs carried out throughout the country.
- The implementation of protective measures against infectious diseases is kept in mind.
Among the educational measures, there are events dedicated to first aid and medical insurance with the participation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan and other relevant state agencies. At such events, the provision of first aid to students, basic life support, proper medical intervention in cases of epileptic seizures, asphyxiation-suffocation, organization of assistance in bleeding caused by various traumas, provision of artificial respiration, and other processes are demonstrated. At the same time, information is brought to attention about the vital importance of the timely provision of first aid, a set of measures that can alleviate the condition of the wounded and sick, as well as minimal medical supplies, and methods that can replace them if these supplies are not at hand.

Psychology Club
The Psychology Club, functioning under the umbrella of the Student Youth Organization at Baku Engineering University (BEU), plays a pivotal role in fostering psychological awareness and mental well-being among students. As a student-led initiative, the club is committed to creating a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment where psychological knowledge is shared, discussed, and applied to both academic and personal contexts.
The club's core mission is to enhance students' understanding of psychology through a wide range of educational and interactive activities. These include regular seminars, discussion panels, film screenings, and workshops on topics such as emotional intelligence, stress management, personality development, cognitive and behavioral theories, social psychology, and mental health literacy. Guest speakers, including academics, clinical psychologists, and professionals in the field, are often invited to provide expert insights and engage students in contemporary psychological discourse.
In addition to educational activities, the club offers a unique platform for students to explore scientific research in psychology. This includes introducing members to current research methodologies, facilitating access to academic literature, and encouraging student-led mini research projects. Such activities aim to cultivate critical thinking and analytical skills, especially among students with a keen interest in pursuing psychology-related careers or graduate studies.
A vital component of the Psychology Club’s work is student psychological support. The club provides a confidential, peer-oriented counseling service where students facing personal, emotional, or social challenges can receive support and guidance. While not a substitute for professional therapy, these sessions are coordinated in collaboration with qualified psychologists and serve as a first step in helping students navigate issues such as academic pressure, relationship problems, adaptation difficulties, and anxiety.
Furthermore, the Psychology Club actively contributes to promoting mental health awareness on campus by organizing campaigns and awareness weeks (e.g., Mental Health Week), distributing informational materials, and using social media to engage with the wider student body.
Through its holistic and inclusive approach, the Psychology Club at BEU not only promotes psychological literacy and emotional resilience but also plays a significant role in shaping a campus culture grounded in empathy, understanding, and mutual support.

Students who wish to become members of the Psychology Club can apply at Prefab Building 2, Room 4202.
