Student Initiative for Biodiversity at BEU

Students of Baku Engineering University (BEU) have participated in an initiative called "Sustainable Campus: Nature and Us" organized at the higher education institution with the aim of protecting biodiversity and raising ecological awareness.

Within the framework of the initiative, various birds on the campus grounds, including pigeons, have been cared for.

Organic waste collected by students has been used for fertilizing tree and green areas on campus. This not only ensures the reuse of waste but also increases soil productivity and contributes to preserving the natural balance of the campus ecosystem.

This initiative by BEU is implemented in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 12 (Responsible Production and Consumption), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).

Such initiatives enhance students' sense of ecological responsibility, encourage them to actively participate in a learning environment alongside nature, and once again demonstrate BEU's commitment to sustainable development values.
