Rector Meet with Representatives of Malaysia's Leading Universities

A delegation from Malaysian state and private universities visited Baku Engineering University (BEU).
Meeting with the guests, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev provided detailed information about the institution's material and technical base and academic programs. He noted that engineering fields constitute the foundation of economic development, technological progress, and innovative solutions worldwide. In this regard, engineering disciplines hold special priority for BEU, and the university has identified the training of professional personnel with modern knowledge and skills in these fields as one of its main strategic objectives. The Rector also spoke about BEU's dual degree programs implemented with foreign universities, emphasizing the importance of international relations in terms of experience exchange. Drawing attention to the fact that the university is one of five Azerbaijani higher education institutions ranked in the top thousand of the "QS-2026" global ranking, Yagub Piriyev emphasized that reforms carried out at BEU in recent years, applied scientific innovations, and increased innovation-oriented activities have had a positive impact on the institution's development.
The Rector stated that cooperation with Malaysia's leading universities is of strategic importance and expressed confidence that this visit will contribute to the expansion of partnership and the formation of new joint projects.
Subsequently, representatives of Malaysia's Putra, Taylors, and SEGi universities, as well as the Sunway Education Group, the country's major education network, made presentations. The presentations provided information about the universities' teaching and research directions and international cooperation.
During the meeting, opportunities for developing joint academic programs, scientific research projects, and academic exchanges between BEU and Malaysian universities were extensively discussed, and relevant agreements were reached. Additionally, views were exchanged regarding faculty-student exchanges, international projects, and prospects for joint cooperation in the field of engineering.
At the conclusion, the guests toured BEU's campus and laboratories.
