Baku Engineering University (BEU) has held a training on "Creation of Elmmetric Bases and Platforms".

Head of the Science and Innovation Department of the University, Associate Professor Mayis Azizov spoke about the importance of the training organized for the teaching staff. He said that being in the elmmetric databases and improving profiles increases the accessibility of universities and researchers to scientific activities, creates a bridge of cooperation with scientific institutions and scientists of the world, as well as promotes the improvement of quantitative and qualitative indicators of scientific results.

Noting that the Ministry of Science and Education has created access to the resources and tools of the "Scopus" database as a positive thing, the head of the department pointed out that it is possible to search on any topic and obtain summaries based on scientific facts and articles on this platform.

During the training, the participants were given extensive information about the ways of creating profiles in "Azerbaijan National H-index Ranking", "Scopus", as well as "Google Scholar", and the opportunities created by each of these platforms for those engaged in science were touched upon separately. It was noted that the university's academic staff and young researchers can find out how many references there are to their articles by creating a profile in these databases, and also determine the quality of their article compared to the articles of other authors on the same topic.

It was emphasized in the training that the possibilities of the "Scopus" platform, which calculates the scientific and research indicators of universities according to international rankings, are wider, and those who have a profile here can easily get all the information about the articles in various fields, the date of their writing, and the authors. In this database, it is also possible to get acquainted with the ways of sending articles to various magazines.

Having understood the technical problems they faced when entering the well-known elmmetric databases of the world, the participants of the training got acquainted with the ways of overcoming the difficulties encountered, and received detailed answers to their other questions related to the topic.
