Baku Engineering University (BEU) and ADA University have organized the regional stage of the "46th ICPC - International Collegiate Programming Contest" (XVII Azerbaijan Championship).

87 teams from 24 higher education institutions of Azerbaijan took part in the online competition. Each team consisted of 3 students and a team leader.

Teams were instructed to solve 14 algorithmic problems in 5 hours in C, C ++, Java or Python programming languages. The assessment was carried out with an automatic assessment system.

According to the results of the competition, the BEU team was among the winners. Thus, ADA U: 2, ADA U: 3, Azerbaijani-French U - UFAZ: 2 were awarded I degree diplomas, while   ADA U: 1, Baku Higher Oil School: 4, Baku Higher Oil School: 2, Azerbaijani-French U - UFAZ: 3 II degree diplomas, Baku Eng U: 6, Baku Eng U: 3, ADA U: 6, Azerbaijan S Oil&Industry U: 7, Baku Eng U: 1, Baku Higher Oil School: 5, Azerbaijani-French U - UFAZ: 1 III degree diplomas. The names of the teams that will represent our country in the semifinals of the "46th ICPC - International Collegiate Programming Contest" to be held in 2022 will be announced in January next year.

It should be noted that the competition has been held regularly since 1977. According to the 45th ICPC 2020-2021 statistics, the last competition was attended by about 60,000 students from about 3,000 universities in 115 countries. Teams of Azerbaijani higher education institutions have been participating in the competition since 2005. The main sponsor of the regional competition is PASHA Bank, a leading corporate bank in Azerbaijan.
