Students and faculty of Baku Engineering University (BEU) have taken part in an informative tour organized by Tamiz Shahar JSC.

After getting acquainted with the works carried out in Baku on waste disposal and neutralization, the tour participants were informed about the waste management and recycling process at the Balakhani Solid Waste Sorting Plant, Balakhani Industrial Park and Baku Solid Waste Incineration Plant. It was noted that the Balakhani Solid Waste Sorting Plant, which has been operating since 2012, was the largest plant in the country that supplied raw materials to recycling facilities.

While watching the process of waste incineration, students were informed that the Baku Solid Waste Incineration Plant meets the most modern environmental requirements and the bottom ash generated by incineration could be used in road construction.

During the tour, the participants observed the process of recycling waste coming to Balakhani Industrial Park, and exchanged views on the benefits of recycling.

At the end, the employees of "Tamiz Shahar" JSC answered the questions of the students.
