A scientific-methodological seminar dedicated to the rules for using the “Scopus” and “Web of Science” databases has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) by the Department of Foreign Languages.

Narmina Aliyeva, the head of the department, touched upon the importance of the seminar and the necessity of using scientometric databases, noting that the inclusion of scientific articles in reputable international databases is of great importance not only for the authors, but also for the university where they operate.

Later, associate professor of the department Yusif Suleymanov made a comprehensive report on the rules for using the “Scopus” and “Web of Science” databases, registration, selection of journals, preparation of articles in accordance with the format. The report provided information on optimizing the process of placing a scientific article in the appropriate publication, and solutions to the problems encountered were explained with specific examples. A number of difficulties faced by young scientists who want to publish their scientific articles in the aforementioned databases were also clarified.

At the end of the seminar, other questions of interest to the participants were answered.
