The report-election meeting of the first territorial party organization of Baku Engineering University (BEU) of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) has been held.

After the playing of the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a video about the activities of the New Azerbaijan Party was demonstrated.

BEU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs and Chairman of the first territorial party organization of NAP BEU, Bayram Huseynzada delivered a presentation on the 5-year activity of the organization that he represented. Stating that the first territorial party organization was established on April 27, 2017, the Vice-Rector emphasized that the number of members of the organization increased in recent years.

He underlined the significant measures had been taken in the past to revive the ideas of the party's founder, Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as to widely promote the achievements in all spheres of the country’s life under the leadership of President and chairman of NAP Ilham Aliyev.

Noting that members of the first party organization of BEU actively participated in the important events dedicated to the anniversaries of the establishment of the New Azerbaijan Party, and municipal, parliamentary, presidential elections, the Vice-Rector highlighted that steps taken to enlighten students, increase their creative and intellectual skills, educate them in the spirit of loyalty and patriotism to the idea of statehood, as well as in various spheres of socio-political and socio-cultural life of the country.

BEU Rector, Professor Havar Mammadov recalled that the party was founded on November 21, 1992 in Nakhchivan under the chairmanship of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, at the request of 91 prominent intellectuals. Speaking about the processes and socio-political conditions in the 90s of the last century, the Rector indicated that the NAP was founded in the country during a period of anarchy, arbitrariness, and the threat of civil war. 

Havar Mammadov spoke about the strengthening of state independence after the coming to power of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, army building, increasing education level and his invaluable services in other spheres. He stressed that the policy of the Great Leader was being pursued by President Ilham Aliyev with dignity and that, under his leadership, the power and prestige of Azerbaijan, which became a victorious state, increased significantly.

The Rector stated that the first party organization of NAP BEU was established in a short period of time since its establishment, and during its 5-year activity it had carried out numerous significant activities, as well as important work in enlightening students and educating them in the spirit of patriotism.

Touching upon the current activities of the NAP, Abbas Aliyev, chairman of the NAP Absheron district organization, mentioned the commissioning of Fuzuli airport, construction of the Victory road, restoration of the cultural heritage of Shusha and other construction works in Karabakh shortly after the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

Noting the structural changes in the party in recent years, he added that this year would mark the 30th anniversary of the NAP.

In his speech, Abbas Aliyev highly appreciated the active work of the first territorial party organization of NAP BEU and expressed his confidence that further cooperation would increase.

Chairperson of the Student Youth Organization (SYO) of BEU Laman Sharifova spoke about the attention and care paid to young people, as well as educating them as professionals and promoting them in public administration. She gave emphasis to the invaluable role of the state's successful youth policy in youth development and the increasing number of young people joining the party.

Later, the issues on the agenda were discussed. The activities of the first territorial party organization during the reporting period were evaluated, including discussion on organizational issues in the meeting. Bayram Huseynzada was re-elected chairman of the first territorial party organization of NAP BEU.

Bayram Huseynzada ensured that he would justify the trust placed in him. Pointing out the tasks facing the organization, the Vice-Rector stressed that the territorial party organization would continue to operate systematically and qualitatively.

At the end of the event, the party's membership cards were presented to the part of BEU employees and students who have recently applied for NAP membership.
