Baku Engineering University (BEU) has held an event dedicated to March 1 - World Civil Defense Day.

Speaking at the event, Ugur Aliyev, head of the Department of Labor Protection and Technical Safety of BEU, informed about the main goal of civil defense, as well as the importance of people's assimilation of civil defense knowledge and the importance of raising the level of propaganda in this field. Speaking about the organization of preventive measures, the head of the department explained the concept of evacuation, the plan, and at the same time the basic rules and the processes related to their proper observance during the placement of the population in safe areas in order to protect the population from the dangers that have arisen.

Yalchin Zeynalov, senior lecturer of the department of Social Sciences, brought to attention the necessary information about the history of civil defense, the concept of civil defense at the international level, etc. 

Mir Ramin Yunusov, a teacher of the department of Social Sciences, made a presentation"Management in crisis situations in the Republic of Azerbaijan. "Civil defense in modern times". Speaker's speech included the work done by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, legal framework, modern early warning systems, etc.

After the speeches, a training video on civil defense organized on the territory of the university in Absheron district was watched with the involvement of BMU employees.

At the end of the event, which consisted of theoretical and practical parts, the rules of conduct were explained to the participants based on a training conventional fire, and at the same time, the fire extinguishing process was visually demonstrated by the university's civil defense team.
