Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted an event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of February 2 –Azerbaijani Youth Day.

BEU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Hamzagha Orujov stressed that the celebration of Youth Day was associated with the name of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He added that the state youth policy, founded by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, played an invaluable role in the future development of Azerbaijani youth. The Vice-Rector emphasized various decrees and orders, state programs aimed at solving the problems of young people, developing their abilities, ensuring their employment, as well as studying abroad. 

H.Orujov added that during the years of independence the 44-day Patriotic War proved that a young generation with a strong sense of patriotism and nationalism was nurtured. 

The Vice-Rector noted that BEU regularly conducted activities in the framework of state youth policy for fostering youngsters to master high moral qulities and become knowledgeable individuals with a strong sense of devotion to the state and motherland. He touched upon that BEU was one of the country’s leading universities in terms of the number of student clubs and the diversity of student activities. Noting that chairperson of BEU SYO Laman Sharifova was elected “Chairperson of the Student Youth Organization of the Year”, the Vice-Rector congratulated the young people and wished them success in their future endeavors at the end of his speech. 

Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of BEU, Associate Professor Mayis Azizov, Dean of the Education Faculty, Associate Professor Elshad Abdullayev, Dean of the Engineering Faculty, Associate Professor Huseyn Mirzayev highly appreciated the organization of the event and congratulated the young people.

Laman Sharifova, chairperson of BEU SYO, and Vusala Imamguliyeva, student of the Education Faculty, took the floor in the event.

At the end, BEU students were awarded honorary diplomas for their fruitful activities in the public and social life of the University.
