The closing ceremony of the "BoostCamp 7.0" educational project organized by students at Baku Engineering University (BEU) has been held.
Speaking at the event, Rector of BEU Yagub Piriyev spoke about the demands and challenges of the era of rapid technological development in the global space. The Rector emphasized the successful results of the youth policy, which was laid by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and continued by President Ilham Aliyev, regarding the youth's keeping up with innovations and their active participation in this process. Stating that the state always provides comprehensive support and care to talented young people, the rector highlighted a number of important issues for the proper use of the potential of modern youth, especially in the field of information technology (IT). Furthermore, he expressed the tasks facing the higher education institutions for the organization of specialist training based on modern competencies, assimilation of theoretical knowledge, improvement of students' knowledge and skills in accordance with new criteria, and their entry into the competitive labor market as professional personnel.
Drawing attention to the history of the "BoostCamp" concept, the rector noted that the implementation of such initiatives at BEU, as well as various projects implemented by students in the field of IT, would always be supported.
Jamal Agayev, an employee of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, spoke about the relations of the institution he represented with BEU, and said that such projects would be supported in the future. He gave detailed information about other projects implemented in the field of forming an innovative ecosystem within the framework of cooperation with higher education institutions, goals for the establishment of technological transfer offices, etc.
Later, BEU students, project coordinator Lamiya Mirzamammadova, project leader Abdullah Mahmudov, mentor Huseyn Sharifzada, expressed their opinion about "BoostCamp 7.0" organized for the effective winter vacation of students, and at the same time, infographics about the project were presented.
Another mentor of the project, BEU-INHA DDP student Nihad Maharramov informed about the projects developed by 3 teams in the 10-person group in the "Hardware" field, which was newly included in the project from the current year, and then the team members demonstrated the projects.
Giving relevant recommendations to the students regarding the further improvement of projects received with interest, creation of added value, as well as turning them into high-tech products and presenting them to the market, Rector Yagub Piriyev wished success to the participants of "BoostCamp".
At the end of the event, which continued with the artistic part performed by the students, the students and mentors who actively participated in the project were presented with gifts from the BEU Student Trade Union Committee.
