Baku Engineering University (BEU) Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Associate Professor Elchin Suleymanov and Vice-Rector for General Affairs Vugar Hasanov has attended the next meeting of the Erasmus + project "Establishment of the Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan".
The meeting aimed to share the results of research conducted under the project with stakeholders in higher education and hold relevant discussions on these results.
The event was attended by rectors and vice-rectors of 19 Azerbaijani universities, as well as representatives of Conference of Rectors of Poland, Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania), Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), EFMD International Business Schools Association (Belgium).
Speaking at the meeting, Nijat Mammadli, head of the Department of Science, Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Ministry of Education, noted that the project would contribute to the strengthening cooperation between universities, the mobility of students and faculty, the optimization of decision-making processes through committees, as well as the dynamic interaction and the development of Azerbaijan's higher education.
The head of the National Erasmus+ Office, Parviz Bagirov, shared the international experience of the Rectors' Conference and noted the importance of the project. He also informed the participants about the purpose, budget and priorities of the next 7-year phase of the Erasmus programme.
Eshgin Bayramov, Vice-Rector for International Relations of Baku Business University, spoke about the overall goals, objectives, work plans, as well as local and foreign partners of the project. Moreover, he made a presentation on the purpose, stages and methodology of research conducted under the project.
Representative of Mykolas Romeris University Inga Juknytė-Petreikienė presented the statistical results of surveys on networking, cooperation and communication between stakeholders in the higher education space of Azerbaijan. He also spoke about the current situation in Azerbaijani universities.
Prof. Regina Valutyte, Vice-Rector of Mykolas Romeris University, and Gulshan Bayramova, Project Coordinator, spoke about the legal framework for establishing the Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan, the results of local and international analysis, and the identification of appropriate regulations and governance models for the conference.
At the end, the rector of Baku Business University, Professor Ibad Abbasov thanked all the partners of the project entited "Establishment of the Rectors' Conference in Azerbaijan" and wished success.
