BEU Vice-Rector attends the meeting held within the Erasmus + project

Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs of Baku Engineering University (BEU) Bayram Huseynzada has taken part in a meeting held at “Nakhchivan” University within the Erasmus + project.

The event aimed to evaluate the results of the ongoing project “Establishment of Rectors’ Conference in Azerbaijan” and hold a joint discussion of future activities. The coordinator of the project funded by the European Commission is Baku Business University. The goals of the project include coordinating the activities of university rectors in order to improve the quality of higher education in Azerbaijan and integrate it into the European education system.  

 Rector of “Nakhchivan” University, Associate Professor Nurlana Aliyeva spoke about the importance of the project. The Rector noted that the project would define new formats of cooperation between local and European universities. In the next stages, the universities in Azerbaijan will have a chance to become members of a number of international organizations, and the Rectors' Conference will create a basis for the representation of Azerbaijani universities in the international arena. The conference will also provide substantial support to the internationalization of curricula of local universities and increasing the competitiveness of universities.

Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev stressed the significance of inter-university cooperation at the international level to address issues arising from new challenges and requirements of our education in the context of fundamental changes and digitalization in the world. The Rector said that the project was of special importance in terms of goals and scope, and it would contribute to the development of the higher education system.

Rector of Nakhchivan Teachers Institute Azad Novruzov touched upon the significance of the event held at “Nakhchivan” University, the first partner of the project in the autonomous republic. He noted the importance of the project in terms of its international significance and its contribution to the development of higher education institutions.

The Head of the National Erasmus+ Office Parviz Bagirov shared the international experience of the Rectors' Conference held within the framework of Erasmus +.

Later, the Vice-Rectors of the universities in Azerbaijan spoke at the event. They expressed the need for closer cooperation among universities in the modern education system, where new challenges were observed, as well as expressed confidence that the project would yield positive results in this direction.

The meeting discussed, evaluated the theoretical results and exchanged views on future activities.
