Baku Engineering Universiy (BEU) has hosted a meeting with students scoring over 600 points in in the entrance exams to higher education institutions at the bachelor's degree for the 2022/2023 academic year.
The National Anthem was played at the event and the dear memory of our martyrs was commemorated.
Noting the importance of continuous activities for fostering youngsters to master high moral qualities and become knowledgeable individuals with a strong sense of devotion to the state and motherland, BEU rector, professor Havar Mammadov paid tribute to our brave sons who died for the land and wished recovery to our veterans. Rector stressed that everyone, including students, had a great responsibility for the future development of our country at a time when the glorious history of Azerbaijan was being written under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Sincerely congratulating the students on their high achievements, the rector stated that the results of admission to BEU this year were successful. Taking into account the statistical indicators, Havar Mammadov pointed out that the number of students who scored over 600 poimts increased from 53 to 127, and the number of students scoring more than 500 increased from 219 to 314 compared to the last academic year. He added that 49 out of 127 were admitted to the dual degree program (DDP) implemented by BEU jointly with Inha University of South Korea.
Emphasizing that today's high results and high scores were a beginning of a successful career as a professional specialist in the future, the rector advised the students to work more determinedly and persistently. Moreover, he pointed out that a professional, academic environment, fertile conditions were created at the university, including high and quality teaching, strong material and technical base, professional approach, substantial staff training, rich experience, educational opportunities were constantly improved and developed with modern methods.
Calling youth to actively participate in social and public life in order to further raise their outlook and intellectual level, the rector said that student youth organizations and numerous clubs were active at BEU.
Leyla Mammadli, admitted to Computer Science (English) Department of Engineering Facuty of BEU with the highest score, 691.3 points, and Zarifa Dashdamirli, admitted to Electrical and Electronics Department of BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program with 643.5 points in the 2022/2023 academic year, took the floor at the meeting.
Later, the rector answered the students' questions.
At the end of the meeting, Havar Mammadov wished all students success in the new academic year, and gifts were presented to the meeting participants on behalf of BEU.
