Foreign Languages Department of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has organized an event entitled "Multicultural Novruz holiday." The event was attended by citizens of Kazakhstan, Angola, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Yemen, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Sudan and other countries who were admitted to the University in the 2021/2022 academic year. 

The Head of Foreign Languages Department, assoc.prof. Atraba Gul provided foreign students with information about the history, traditions and symbols of Novruz, the national holiday of Azerbaijan.

The Head of the Department noted that Novruz holiday was included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2009 and in 2010 at the 64th session of the UN General Assembly, March 21 was declared "International Novruz Day." 

A.Gul added that a multicultural mood prevailed at BEU, representatives of different nationalities studied at the University and favorable conditions were created for them.

Foreign students talked about their holidays respective to the nationalities.

Novruz sweets were presented to foreign students at the holiday event.

The event ended with "Yalli" by foreign students.
