BEU hosts concert program dedicated to International Women's Day

A concert program dedicated to March 8 - International Women's Day has been organized at Baku Engineering University (BEU).

Speaking at the event, Rector Yagub Piriyev expressed his sincere congratulations on the occasion of the holiday. Stating that historically Azerbaijani women have played an exceptional role in the protection and development of the sacred values ​​​​of our people, the Rector emphasized that the further strengthening of the position of women in society in our country and the foundation for radical changes in this area were laid precisely with the policy pursued by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The Rector noted the decisions made at the state level in the interests of women, emphasizing that ensuring their active participation in the socio-political and cultural life of the country is always taken into account.

The rector mentioned that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continues this policy, Azerbaijani women are currently adequately represented in any field. Stating that First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva is the most beautiful example for Azerbaijani women, the rector noted that she is known as a symbol of nobility and kindness even beyond the borders of the country. Moreover, he spoke about Mehriban Aliyeva's invaluable services in the development of our education, culture, and the preservation and promotion of our national and spiritual values.

Yagub Piriyev pointed out that Azerbaijani women, distinguished by their peace-loving nature, compassion and mercy, are also distinguished by their fighting spirit when necessary, their steadfast, proud, headstrong and determined stance in the face of the most difficult trials. He emphasized that the world once again witnessed the high qualities of Azerbaijani women, such as standing with dignity by their people and Motherland in fateful issues, and being ready for all sacrifices during the 44-day Patriotic War.

In his speech, the rector noted that 42 percent of the employees at BEU are women and that appropriate steps would be taken to increase the role of women in university life in the future.

Later, the concert program continued with musical numbers, dances performed by BEU students.
