BEU employees participate in trainings on renewable energy sources

Employees of Baku Engineering University (BEU) (Associate Professors of Automation and Electroenergectics Engineering Department Najaf Orujov and Shamsi Nasirov, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department Natig Rzayev and Assistant Suleyman Soltanov, Chief Specialist of Technopark Arif Najimov) are participating in trainings on renewable energy sources (January 14-19).

During the training, organized by the Environmental Research Center and the State Agency on Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and initiated by Baku Higher Oil School, reports on solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy and biomass energy will be presented by experienced specialists and presentations will be organized. At the end of the training, participants will be awarded certificates.

In modern times, the growing demand for training specialists in alternative and renewable energy sources not only raises this issue, but also makes it necessary to develop new training programs. In this regard, relevant works are being done in several universities in this direction.

It should be noted that BEU-INHA dual degree program has been launched at BEU within the "State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023". The program, which has been implemented from the 2020/2021 academic year, provides training in 4 specialties (Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering and Information Technology). Students will study 3 academic years at BEU and 1 academic year at INHA University of South Korea. At the end, students will receive two diplomas and will be fully prepared as a professional engineer for the labor market in both English and Korean.

The recent launch of the construction of the 240-megawatt “Khizi-Absheron” Wind Power Plant to be built in Azerbaijan by ACWA Power of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will further increase the demand for local and professional specialists.
