BEU employees participate in seminar on internationalization of higher education

Sevil Imanova, Head of the Quality Assurance Department of Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Arif Najimov, Chief Specialist of BEU Technopark, have participated in the seminar "Expanding the internationalization of higher education in Azerbaijan through professional associations and knowledge exchange." The seminar was held in Baku in partnership with the Azerbaijan International Education Managers Association, Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (California, USA) and U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan.

Representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, students of Fulbright U.S. Student Program, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, various higher education institutions, the National Erasmus + Office in Azerbaijan, the British Council Azerbaijan made presentations and reports.

Reports on “Current Realities and Future Directions for International Education,” “International education models (partnerships, programs and activities) in Azerbaijan,” “Student / teacher mobility or exchange through scholarship programs by state and international organizations,” “Perspectives and student services of foreign student and research exchange programs in Azerbaijan,” “Next steps for international cooperation in education in Azerbaijan and the region” were heard. BEU employees actively participated in discussions on these topics and shared the University's experience.

Participants' questions were answered during the seminar.

At the end of the event, participants were awarded certificates.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan International Education Managers Association was established in November 2019 as an initiative group and started operating on a voluntary basis by employees of several local universities. The mission of the Azerbaijan International Education Managers Association is to support individuals and organizations through promotion, advocacy, networking and professional resource exchange, and contribute to the effective internationalization of higher and vocational education in Azerbaijan.
