A meeting was held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) with representatives of China's ICT giant corporation "Huawei".

BEU rector Yagub Piriyev expressed his satisfaction at seeing the leadership team of "Huawei" company at the university. The rector emphasized the friendship and partnership relations between China and Azerbaijan, noting that because of the successful policies pursued by the leadership of both countries, relations have been further strengthened, and cooperation in the field of education has expanded. Stating that the importance of university-industry cooperation is increasing in the technological age, Yagub Piriyev positively assessed the establishment of relations between BEU and the company. The rector mentioned that important meetings regarding BEU's cooperation with Chinese higher education institutions have been held recently and agreements have been reached, noting the contributions of expanding partnerships with international companies to the teaching process and professional preparation of students in relevant fields. He also brought to attention that quality education is conducted at BEU, which specializes in engineering and IT, highlighting the university's research potential, modern laboratories, and the capabilities of its Technopark.

"Huawei" company's Vice President for the Middle East and Central Asian countries, Angela Lin, in turn, expressed satisfaction with the acquaintance with BEU and the emerging cooperation opportunities. The Vice President, who provided information about the company, emphasized the importance of the meeting in terms of discussing cooperation prospects between BEU and "Huawei". Angela Lin invited BEU leadership to participate in the "Delegation of Rectors' visit" to China to be organized next month at the company's initiative. She announced that innovations in the direction of digitalization of education will be studied during this visit. This visit, which will create an opportunity for close acquaintance with digital transformation processes in China, will also provide detailed information about "Huawei" company's world-leading ICT technologies.

Subsequently, the parties discussed issues of establishing cooperation in the field of information technology and digitalization, and the implementation of joint projects aimed at developing education and infrastructure.
