BEU and TIIAME sign Memorandum in Tashkent

A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers-National Research University (TIIAME-NRU) within the framework of the "QS Eurasia Forum 2025" held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent. 

Speaking at the signing ceremony, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev noted that the document not only serves to systematically expand academic and scientific cooperation between the two higher education institutions, but also reflects the real results of the friendly and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the field of education. The Rector emphasized that the relations of President Ilham Aliyev and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev based on mutual trust create broad prospects for the implementation of joint projects in the field of higher education. Drawing attention to the main directions of future cooperation, the rector pointed out that the signing of the document within the framework of the "QS Eurasia Forum 2025" further increases the importance of cooperation between the parties on a regional and international scale.

In his speech, the rector of TIIAME Bakhodir Mirzaev mentioned that cooperation with BEU is of great importance for them. He assessed the signed memorandum as an important step in terms of future joint scientific research, student-teacher exchange, as well as the implementation of mutual innovative initiatives.

The memorandum, which will make a significant contribution to the implementation of the 17th direction of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, includes the promotion of joint activities in the academic and research fields between universities, the exchange of teachers and students, the sharing of scientific publications and the implementation of educational programs, and various projects.

Of note, TIIAME is a leading higher education institution specializing in engineering, agricultural and environmental sciences. Founded in 1934 and granted the status of a National Research University in 2021, TIIAME, as the most prestigious higher education institution in Central Asia, trains highly qualified specialists to find solutions to global problems in the fields of water, food, climate and sustainable development.
