The process of electing the next Young Ambassadors has started in Azerbaijan. Thus, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), will select new Ambassadors for Sustainable Development Goals under the project “Creating New Platforms to Support Active Youth Engagement in Global Policy Debates”.
Young teachers and students of Baku Engineering University (BEU) can also participate in this selection. An application form to become a Young Ambassador, a set of conditions for candidates and more information about the activity can be found at https://www.sdgyouthambassadors.com/ . The registration phase will last until March 2, 2021.
It should be noted that in 2018, for the first time in Azerbaijan, 17 Young Ambassadors were elected under this project. During 2018-2020, the Young Ambassadors made significant contributions to the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals in Azerbaijan on a voluntary basis, promoting youth participation to achieve the goals, informing the public about the steps taken at the local, national and international levels, and implementing related initiatives.
In September 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted the Sustainable Development Goals. The realization of these 17 goals by 2030 is now one of the main activities of UN member states, including Azerbaijan.
