• Unit Operations Lab

The Unit Operations Laboratory allows students to gain hands-on experience while studying both the fundamental principles and practical applications of chemical engineering.  The laboratory includes pilot-plant scale equipment that represents unit operations (specific components common to a variety of chemical processes) found in industrial settings.  This equipment includes distillation columns (both staged and packed), counter-current heat exchangers, ion exchange units, gas absorption and liquid-liquid extraction columns, membrane separators, drying units (including a spray dryer), plate and frame filter press, and an analytical lab and process control room. This facility is specifically designed to introduce students to larger scale industrial processes commonly encountered by chemical engineers.  In this laboratory, students work in teams to apply principles learned in the classroom to solve practical engineering problems.

  • Process Engineering Lab

Process engineering  focuses on the design, operation, control, and optimization of chemical, physical, and biological processes through the aid of systematic computer-based methods. Process engineering is often regarded as a branch of chemical engineering and encompasses a vast range of industries, such as petrochemical, mineral processing, advanced material, food, pharmaceutical, and biotechnological industries.

  • Physical Chemistry Lab

The goal of the labs is to provide a modest introduction to this area of scientific activity. Centuries of empiricism have been invested in man's present conceptual view of the physical world. It would be impossible to attempt to illustrate systematically the experimental basis of that view. Some principles will be illustrated in the labs, but many more will simply be applied to the problem at hand.

  • Analytical Chemistry Lab

Analytical chemistry is a measurement science consisting of a set of powerful ideas and methods applicable in all fields of science and medicine. Analytical chemistry plays a vital role in the development of all the sciences. Analytical chemists thus require broad and solid background knowledge of chemical and physical concepts.

Very often the analytical procedure includes a separation step as a necessary part. Qualitative analysis is often an integral part of the separation step, and the determination of the identity of the analytes is an essential adjunct to quantitative analysis.

  •  General Chemistry Lab

Laboratory is designed to demonstrate and support principles and concepts of General Chemistry main topics.  In addition the laboratory familiarity provides students experience in collecting and analyzing data, writing laboratory reports, and using reference materials.  Throughout the course there is an emphasis on laboratory safety and accurate laboratory techniques.
