The team of Baku engineering University won startup competition held among students within "From Idea to Business" project implemented by the Ministry of Transport, Communication and High Technologies and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's Regional Development Public Union jointly with the Azerbaijani Youth Foundation, the United Nations Development Program, Microsoft and Azercell.
The meeting among rector of the university, Professor Havar Mammadov and team members was held. Along with the team members, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Associate professor Elchin Suleymanov and Chief of the Technopark, Samir Mammadov were participated in the meeting.
Rector of the university, Professor Havar Mammadov congratulated the students on the occasion of their achievements. He talked about the importance of students’ participation in the competition. He noted that to win and participating in competitions is the result of the student's academic knowledge. Noting that Baku Engineering university improves not only theoretical knowledge but also practical knowledge of the students, rector said that the university arranges internships in the in modern technoparks and enterprises.
The team members gave detailed information about the importance of projects. They underlined that the university environment, especially University Tehnopark allowed them participate in local and international competitions. The members of team thanked the rector for scientific-creativity opportunity.
It should be noted that the National Final stage of the competition will be held for the first time in Baku on October 26-30 within “Week of Innovations”.
